Meraki - Starter Pack Creation
The brief was to create a document that could be given to all new starters that would introduce them to Meraki London, it's brand ethos and take them on the customer journey to help them in whatever role.
Meraki is an international Greek-Mediterranian fusion restaurant that aspires to be known for fine dining without the hassle and elevated customer service. I worked with the marketing team at Meraki London for their new starter pack
The Brief:
With the festive season starting and an influx of new starters, Meraki wanted to create a more streamlined onboarding process including a new starter pack. The brief was to create a document that could be given to all new starters that would introduce them to Meraki London, it's brand ethos and take them on the customer journey to help them in whatever role.
The pack had to be dynamic, fun and encompass all of the roles for new starters so it could be given to everyone.
The Solution
This 41-page starter pack was one of my favourite projects as it allowed me to try something new and brush off my love of Greek Mythology. The starter pack was launched with their Winter 2022 recruitment with the brief being a booklet that could help the new starters learn the customer journey quickly and their role within the restaurant. Introducing the brand and showcasing why working there was like no other.
Using the brand guidelines for the Tone of Voice and look, I created an internal booklet for new starters, introducing the brand of Meraki to new starters to help them get acquainted with all aspects of the business. From the customer journey to the different parts of the business; Meraki restaurant, Bar and The Living Room.
The handbook aims to guide the new starters through their journey to Meraki so they have an understanding of the business before they enter the premises for their first shift.
The brief was for a document that was fun, warm and knowledgeable - using their terminology and ethos throughout I ensured that all new starters know what Meraki meant as well as used their focus on Greek islands and mythology to develop a narrative that infused the restaurant's values, country of origin and greek history into an easy to read the booklet.
As well as this - to make sure all marketing was the same, I rewrote the About page for the website so that it also featured the new ethos and brought to life the restaurant, bar and living room to let customers know what to expect upon entering.
"It was a pleasure to work with Katrina on this project. Having floated the idea of outsourcing a copywriter for some time, Kat’s charming, sunny personality made it an easy final decision!
Kat’s ability to grasp concept, tone of voice and brand identity within the space of one meeting and reading a few documents is unparalleled. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and do hope we will have the opportunity to work together again on another project."
